At Common Opal Studio, we are committed to ensuring that our space is inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to all clients, regardless of physical abilities, neurodiversity, or sensory needs. Below is a breakdown of the accessibility arrangements we have in place to support everyone who visits us.

Physical Accessibility  

 

1. Entrance and Pathways  

   - Our entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible.  

   - Clear signage directs visitors from parking areas or main entrances to the studio.  

   - All pathways within the space are at least 36 inches wide to accommodate mobility aids.  

 

2. Parking  

   - Free 2-hour parking is available at the back of the building.  

   - Designated accessible parking spaces are close to the building entrance, with curb cuts and ramps for smooth access.  

 

3. Elevators & Stairs  

   - The studio is located on the 5th floor of the building. An elevator with accessible controls and visual notifications is available.  

   - For those using stairs, railings are provided along all stairways to offer additional support.  

 

4. Accessible Restrooms  

   - Restrooms are located on the same floor as our studio and are fully accessible, featuring grab bars and adequate clearance for mobility aids.  

   - Gender-neutral restrooms are also available to promote inclusivity.

Sensory and Emotional Accessibility  

 

1. Quiet Spaces

   - We offer a designated quiet room for those who need a sensory break during their visit.  

   - This space provides soft, comfortable seating and a calming atmosphere for relaxation.  

 

2. Service Animals Welcome  

  - Service animals are welcomed in all areas of the studio. We are happy to accommodate water bowls or resting areas for service companions upon request.  

 

Communication and Assistance 

 

1. Staff Training  

   - Our staff is trained to provide thoughtful and respectful support to individuals with disabilities or diverse needs.  

   - We are happy to offer one-on-one assistance for navigating the space or participating in sessions.  

 

2. Assistive Devices  

   - Portable chairs, cushions, or other comfort aids are available upon request to enhance comfort during sessions.  

   - Clients are welcome to use personal assistive devices such as hearing aids, mobility aids, or communication tools during their time with us.
